What a first message is made of
A first touch has one job: earn permission for the next conversation. Do not send a deck, price list or calendar link without context. Build the message from four parts: the recipient, an observation, relevance and a short question. This structure works for both Telegram outreach and LinkedIn.
| Part | Working wording | What breaks the conversation |
|---|---|---|
| Observation | I saw that you are opening a branch in Kazan | I looked at your excellent website |
| Relevance | We help integrators identify decision-makers in new regions | We have a unique offer |
| Question | Would it be useful to send an example of the account selection? | When would be a good time to talk? |
The fact must explain why you wrote to this particular person. A compliment that could be sent to a thousand profiles is not a fact.
How the tool assesses a draft
The assessment does not predict lead volume. It checks whether the text gives the recipient a reason to reply. Each factor is assessed separately and then combined into an overall score, so a weak point remains visible even when the rest of the wording is tidy.
- Choose the channel: a direct Telegram message or a LinkedIn connection request.
- State the recipient’s role and one fact that can be confirmed from a public source.
- Frame the offer as a small next step, not a sale of the full service.
- Check the final question: it should be easy to answer in one word or a short phrase.
Specificity shows whether the reason for contact is clear without following links. Role fit checks whether the trigger belongs to the recipient’s area of responsibility. Offer clarity separates the subject of a conversation from a list of services. Reply friction reflects how much effort a decision-maker needs to make to continue the exchange.
How to read the result honestly
A high score means the text is ready for a small test wave; it does not guarantee market interest. If specificity is weak, replace a general opening with a fact: a vacancy, a new branch, a product change, a tender or a point made in a public talk. See how to find B2B decision-makers and contacts for more on identifying relevant people and context.
If reply friction is weak, narrow the choice. Instead of asking, “What are your automation priorities and when could we discuss them?”, ask, “Is the new branch already using a separate CRM?” A reply of “yes”, “no” or “not my area” gives you a route for the next message.
- After adding the name, the text does not read like a mass message.
- The fact relates to the company or the role, not merely to the industry.
- The message contains one offer, not two different ones.
- The next step does not require booking a meeting immediately.
Why Telegram and LinkedIn need different templates
In Telegram, the recipient sees a direct personal message. You can state a working hypothesis and ask a question immediately. On LinkedIn, a connection request often comes before a message: its text should explain why the recipient should add you, rather than squeeze in a commercial offer. Treat platform restrictions and formats separately; see LinkedIn outreach for Russia and CIS.
Telegram example: “Alexey, I saw you are hiring a sales lead for a new branch. We help B2B teams identify their first target accounts in a region. Would an example selection for your niche be useful?” LinkedIn example: “Alexey, I noticed you are expanding the regional team. I’d like to connect: I have an observation about finding B2B accounts for launches like this.” The second version does not ask for a purchase or disguise an invitation as an email.
When first-message templates will not help
Do not use them if you cannot name the recipient, verify the trigger or explain the value without generalities. A template cannot repair an offer with nothing to test in the market, and it cannot replace reply handling: after “send more details”, you need a prepared path to qualification. Align materials and scenarios in advance with your reply-handling process.
This tool is also not for former customers, warm referrals or inbound enquiries. Those conversations already have context and need different wording. If you are unsure why response is weak, a cold outreach and deliverability audit is more useful than endlessly changing one greeting.
