Expandi vs Dripify for LinkedIn Automation

Expandi and Dripify automate LinkedIn connection requests, messages and follow-ups from your account. Choose Expandi if you want a single full-featured plan and more complex campaign logic; choose Dripify if you prefer tiered plans for testing and gradual team adoption. Neither tool replaces the work of defining the right audience, writing a relevant reason to contact them and handling replies.

What Expandi and Dripify automate — and what remains with your team

Both tools automate actions inside LinkedIn, including connection requests, messages, profile views, follows and reactions. Dripify lets you build sequences from actions, conditions and delays, while Expandi supports conditional flows, messages to existing connections, email follow-ups and campaign prioritisation.

A tool cannot tell which company needs your service now. For an IT integrator, “We automate business processes — shall we talk?” is generic. “I saw that you opened a warehouse in Tver. At this stage, inventory records often sit between 1C and the WMS. Have you already decided who will reconcile stock?” gives the recipient a concrete subject; a person must still find that trigger, verify the role and decide whether it is appropriate.

If you need the operating process rather than a software seat — from the decision-maker list to handing a live conversation to sales — see LinkedIn outreach. Building and checking the account list remains a separate task within lead list building.

Automation saves time on repeatable actions after you have defined the audience and sequence. It does not turn a cold contact into agreement to meet.

Expandi is the clearer fit when you do not want to choose between stripped-down packages and need more involved branching in one campaign. Dripify is a practical fit for testing a LinkedIn rhythm from one account, then moving to a higher plan when the process and team need it.

A software subscription is only one part of the cost. It does not include the LinkedIn subscription, the person running the account, the list, the copy or reply handling. Compare the full route to a decision-maker conversation, not the price of a licence alone.

How to launch without creating an empty stream of messages

  1. Choose one segment, such as packaging manufacturers in selected regions, within your target revenue range and with a commercial leader as the target role.
  2. Manually check the first profiles: confirm that each person has a current role, that the conversation has a clear subject and that no colleague has already contacted them.
  3. Build a short sequence: a connection request without a sales pitch, then a question tied to a specific observation, then one clarification rather than a demo request.
  4. Upload only the checked list, set the action order and do not rewrite the copy after the first replies without a reason.
  5. Classify replies separately: interest, wrong contact, bad timing, refusal or a request to continue in another channel. The next launch can then rely on evidence rather than a general counter.

A common mistake is importing a broad search export and applying profile views, connection requests, reactions and messages at once. The recipient sees a mechanical chain, while the manager gets unread fragments instead of a reason to continue the conversation. Reply handling and lead qualification separates “send materials” from a request that genuinely warrants a sales meeting.

What counts as a useful signal

A useful reply is not simply “interesting.” It contains a next step: the company is selecting a supplier, another decision-maker should receive the message, or the conversation should resume after a specific business event. In our own campaigns, a clear positive reply means a request for details, a proposal or a meeting; we recorded 6,500 such replies.

Why platform safeguards do not remove profile risk

Expandi and Dripify position cloud operation, separate IP addresses, delays and activity controls as protective measures. These settings can reduce intensity; they are not permission from LinkedIn. LinkedIn’s rules prohibit third-party software that automates actions, adds connections or sends messages.

Do not build sales around one working profile, promise management a fixed volume of connections or treat a monthly allowance as a guaranteed pipeline. If an account is restricted, the sequence stops and conversation history and commitments require manual review. For B2B companies targeting Russia and the CIS, LinkedIn is best treated as one route, not the only channel.

When a contact is present on LinkedIn but prefers to continue elsewhere, multi-channel outreach can combine email, Telegram and LinkedIn. In this market, Telegram is often a working business channel, while decision-makers may read their own email through Yandex 360 or Mail.ru; channel order and contact source should be recorded before launch so one person does not receive the same offer repeatedly.

A protection setting does not guarantee the safety of an account or override LinkedIn’s rules. The profile owner retains the risk of using automation.

Who these tools suit — and where OT9 is not needed

  • Choose Expandi if you already have someone who can confidently build an audience, write message variants, interpret replies and wants a complete feature set.
  • Start with Dripify if you are testing LinkedIn from one account and are prepared to run the campaign and reporting internally.
  • Bring in a team when sales cannot check profiles and reply on the day of contact, and you need several channels with one qualification process.

We are not the right fit if you only want access to a tool and expect finished leads without input from your side. We cannot replace the expert who explains the problem your product solves, agrees the exclusion list and takes ownership of the target conversation. We are also not a fit when LinkedIn does not contain your audience, for example when decisions sit with local buyers who do not maintain public profiles.

First establish where your contacts actually are. Full-service outreach does not mean using every channel by default; we do not recommend a channel when it offers no credible route to the role you need.

How to decide before paying for a subscription

Use the trial for a controlled task, not a bulk send. Take a small, focused company segment, build one sequence and check import, duplicate exclusions, reply visibility and status export to your CRM. You will then know whether the tool saves operational time for your actual team.

Do not judge the result by a single accepted connection. Check whether you can answer a decision-maker on the same working day, record the reason for a refusal and avoid messaging someone a colleague already contacted. If those points are not in place, the next purchase should be a process, not a more expensive licence.

  • One person is accountable for the profile and correspondence.
  • There is an exclusion list covering customers, partners, competitors and colleagues.
  • Each segment has a specific reason to receive a message, rather than a generic offer.
  • There is a rule for handing an interested contact to sales.
  • There is another channel available if LinkedIn restricts the profile.

FAQ

Is Expandi or Dripify cheaper?

Dripify’s entry-level plan is generally positioned as the lower-cost starting point, while Expandi uses a single business-plan model. The relevant comparison is the Dripify tier you need and the cost of the people who will run the campaign, not software price alone.

Do I need Sales Navigator to use these tools?

No. Both tools can be used with LinkedIn accounts without treating Sales Navigator as a prerequisite. Sales Navigator may help with prospecting, but it is a separate LinkedIn subscription and not included with either tool.

Can I run LinkedIn automation for Russia and the CIS?

Technical access to a service does not guarantee predictable account operation. Before paying, test sign-in, billing, imports and a launch from your own profile during the trial, while treating LinkedIn restrictions and platform rules as a material factor.

Do Expandi or Dripify guarantee meetings or leads?

No. The tools automate actions and report activity; they do not prove that the audience wants your offer. Across our campaigns, 5.93% of contacted companies replied, but each campaign depends on the segment, the reason to write and the handling of the dialogue.

When should I use neither Expandi nor Dripify?

Do not use either when you lack a defined LinkedIn audience, someone accountable for correspondence or an acceptable risk level for the profile involved. They also cannot solve an offer that cannot be explained clearly without a long presentation.

Check your LinkedIn sequence before buying licences
